I still don't have pictures to download of the house with our stuff in it but I will soon because we are going to eventually unpack all of the boxes and really set up house.
All weekend we were getting settled and feeling that our stuff felt good in the house. We know eventually we would like to move out to the country but we need to get well established (i.e. debt paid off, etc) before we do that. So we decided to send an email to the owner of the house to see if they were still willing to consider rent to own.
As it turned out, they were about to send in a counter offer to the folks who were looking at the house last week. She said that she preferred to sell the house to someone they knew and liked (they do live in the next house over after all) and they were willing to work with us. The timing was really incredible (I believe it was a God thing, as so much of this journey has been).
Last night we talked to the owners of the house while sitting at our kitchen table and decided we will put an offer on the house. There will be some sort of clause about waiting to purchase pending a job for Loran or sale of the house in Columbus and we will rent until then but essentially we have a home now!
A home with a big window in the front for the Christmas tree to shine out of :-) You know that the house is becoming a home when you can see where the tree will go at Christmas. And I wasn't even the first one to mention it :-)
Pictures will follow soon, I promise!

God is GOOD! You are correct, when you can picture the Christmas tree in July you are home.
