And the answer is...

It is an automatic waterer for cattle. This particular one was brand new in the photoperiod barn when the barn was built for my advisor and our research.

As you can see in the photo below, it quickly became well-used :-) I just had to include a picture of some of the calves that we had in the barn for a while!

ahhh, once a farm girl, always a farm girl at heart! So do you miss cheese curds from Wisconsin? They are our favorite, and we only can get them fresh from a place just south of Iowa City, IA...whoa, gotta miss the midwest!

Considering my Ph.D. in Dairy Science, I don't think I will ever be leaving my interest in cattle. I look forward to getting back to it.

Every time we go back to Wisconsin (or Illinois), we go to Culver's and get fried cheese curds. They are the current favorite :-)
